Colored Pencil Peppers
After watching several colored pencil tutorials and creating contour sketches of my pepper still life, I began to plan out the highlights of my peppers. Outside of the peppers, I looked for the positive and negative space to make sure I had the sizes and shapes of the peppers and cast shadows correct. My peppers had an complementary color scheme of red and green. By layering white and lighter colors of the pepper I was able to create the lightest areas of them. By layering thin layers of colored pencil using the Circulism and Scribbling techniques I was able to create the different tones of color within the pepper. To create the core shadows of the pepper, I used the complementary of the pepper to create a darker shade. I also had to pay attention to the reflected colors of the other peppers and the table in the peppers and in the cast shadows. Overall I feel that I was able to meet the requirements of the project and I was able to accurately capture the peppers and I think my drawing turned out well.

Course Reflection
I have made progress in observing subjects and drawing what I see in them especially with portraits and figure drawing. I liked the techniques of mixing colors with the different mediums that we used. My most important take away would be the importance of mapping out and practicing a drawing before making the final product. My favorite project was the Pastel Portrait because I liked the way the colors can be mixed and the amount of detail that can be created. I would want to have more time to work on my Exquisite Corpse so I could have put more detail into it and make it look better.
If I designed this course I would probably keep all of the projects we did but I might also add some sort of landscape or perspective drawing in.
